STEAM Project PROGRAM

Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math

In 2006, President Obama expressed his concern about the declining state of STEM education in the United States. The top three recommendations made were to:

Increase America’s talent pool by improving K–12 science and mathematics education
Strengthen the skills of teachers through additional training in science, math and technology
Enlarge the pipeline of students prepared to enter college and graduate with STEM degrees

Genesis and Light Center (“G&L”) has joined the President’s initiative by developing structured educational activities that enhance participants’ reading, language arts, and STEAM education (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics). We are implementing activities within our programs and curricula to advance STEAM education in order to replenish the pool of scientists, engineers and mathematicians who will lead space exploration in the 21st century. Genesis and Light seeks partners, sponsors, and volunteers to assist us with our STEAM programs to increase the chance of student success.
