We've Gone The Extra Mile...

Since 1992, Genesis and Light has continued to enhance, expand, and develop its services while creating new innovative programs to assist underachieving youth and low income families. Genesis and Light has helped over 20,000 youth to stay in school, resist alcohol and drugs – not counting the ones helped at satellite sites in Natchez, Yazoo, Tunica, Forest, Canton, and Greenville.

Last year alone we hosted over 55 events at our center helping make someone’s special event memorable. Genesis and Light provided access to technology to over 100 citizens who didn’t have access to a computer, printer or fax - giving some the ability to complete employment applications and helping others to enhance their computer skills. Genesis and Light organized empowerment seminars and workshops for countless individuals. Genesis and Light helped bring back the arts that were removed from the public school system to students by offering them arts and craft activities. Genesis and Light offered youth services including an afterschool and summer camp program to 100ths of at-risk disadvantaged youth. Genesis and Light implemented a ”Senior Social Club” to help improve the quality of life for the elderly and disabled. Genesis and Light has employed over 40 people and has helped another 40 people to find employment indirectly, all while offering volunteer opportunities to over 125 people just last year alone.
